Who we are
Northwood Removals is the data controller for information you send through this website. Our contact address for data protection matters is hello@northwoodremovals.co.uk.
What we collect
When you ask for a quote we collect your name, phone number, email address, both addresses, your preferred date if you give one, and whatever you write in the notes. If you email us, we hold the contents of that email.
The form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA. Google receives technical information about the request in order to tell a person from an automated submission, subject to Google’s own privacy policy and terms.
What we do not ask for
We do not ask what you do, who you work for, where you are being posted, or why. We need to know how long you are staying because it determines the shape of the move. We do not need to know anything about the assignment itself, and we would rather you did not tell us.
If you send us information of that kind anyway, we will not record it, we will not repeat it, and it goes with the rest of the file when the file is deleted.
Employers, relocation agents and third parties
Where you tell us in writing that a relocation agent, an HR or welfare contact or a family member is coordinating your move, we will deal with them on the arrangements. What we share with them is what they need for the job: the addresses, the dates, and the scope of work.
We will not confirm to a third party that you have enquired, booked or moved unless you have told us in writing that we may. We do not initiate contact with an employer about you.
Inventories and manifests
An assignment move produces a detailed list of what you own, which is more revealing than most people think about. We hold inventories with the job file, we do not share them beyond the parties to the move — a freight forwarder or storage facility where one is involved — and we delete them with the file.
Why we hold it
To survey, quote and carry out the work. That is our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you started, and where you instruct us, performance of a contract.
We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to, and we do not sell or pass them to lead-generation companies.
Who else sees it
Our own staff and crew, and our hosting and email providers, who process it on our behalf under contract. Where a shipment, a storage facility or a partner crew at the far end is involved, we share only what they need.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are plainly stale. Completed jobs are kept for as long as we need them for accounting, insurance and claims purposes, and then deleted. Storage records are kept while goods are in store and deleted when the account closes.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@northwoodremovals.co.uk. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
